Munira Hussein
Munira Hussein was born and raised in Marsabit, Northern Kenya. She studied B. Sc Microbiology but got drawn to the writing world. She is the author of Highland Cactus, Unfit for Society, A Curve of Darkness and co-author of Academic and other fictional works. Her short story, Powder in the Wind was shortlisted for the African Writers Award in 2018. She was also shortlisted for the Writing Gender Residency by Huza Press and Goethe Institute Kigali. Her articles, poems, and short stories have been published in Urban Ivy and The Paranoid Tree. She won the winner of the International Literary Seminars Fellowship in 2022. She lives in Nairobi with her plants.
